There is an interesting fight card going on tonight, it is set in Brazil with five of the toughest fighters attached to the card. History has shown us Belfort was at one time, the man with the fastest hands in the UFC. However since being busted and getting into trouble with PEDs, that is not the case anymore. However he is taking on a competitor in Gastelum who is looking to stake his claim in the middleweight division. He is coming off of two victories in the UFC and looking to add another name to his long list of victims. I am going to be pulling for Gastelum in this case.
Another big fight on this card will be the Co-main even the evening. Mauricio Rua vs Gian Villante, Rua in his last five fights 3-2, while Villante is 3-2 as well. Both will be looking to put themselves back in the hunt. But Rua has been fighting for a long time and it looks like the end of his run could be coming up, he is a great fighter back in the day but time catches up with all. Rua has been fighting since 2002 and 15 years in the fight game is a long time, I am looking to see if Rua will retire after this fight.
Edson Barboza makes his return to the octagon tonight against another tough opponent in Beneil Dariush. Edson still has the fastest feet in the game, with the strongest kicks, and it will be difficult with anyone to deal with. However Dariush has had 10 fights in the UFC and has only lost twice. Edson has had 3 loses in his last 10 fights, but do not let that fool ya (they have been against guys who were top tier fighters). Plus Edson will always have this...
